“Death to self” is letting go of our selfish desires and old ways so that way we may step into the new and experience Christ’s transformative work in us. We must die to ourselves in order to embrace our new identity in Christ and align our actions with His teachings and love.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come." (2 Corinthians 5:17)
